About me

Helen Bowen - Owner/Designer

I am former Editor of Beads & Beyond magazine, a UK-based monthly publication focussed on jewellery making across multiple mediums. Since the closure of the title in November 2015, I have returned to my previous life as a part-time data analyst and busy mum of two, fulfilling my passion for creativity and writing though making jewellery and writing tutorials and useful articles whenever I can.

I design from my home studio in beautiful Worcestershire. With a house perched high on the Malvern Hills, I am never short of inspiration and my individual pieces have a strong reference to nature and a real emphasis on colour, texture and detail.

I love to work on commissions for both tutorials and jewellery pieces but also create some items or general sale.

I'm at my happiest when I'm learning new skills and I spend much of my design time seeking different components from fellow artisans to make truly unique pieces that you will love to wear and talk about.

I was Beads & Beyond Magazine's Jewellery Maker of the Year 2012 (Stringing & Linking) and a published jewellery project writer as well as a member of the Guild of Jewellery Designers and a Self-Representing Artist in Jewellery Designer (SRAJD).
